EVALUATIONS

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation

Aids in identifying issues related to school performance and achievement. This evaluation might assess a child’s overall intellectual ability, processing, and academic achievement, as well as any possible behavioral concerns. Evaluations begin with an in-depth intake interview to discuss concerns along with background and developmental history. This is a 60 minute session and can be held in person in our office, or via video call.

Individual testing of the child’s academics, processing, and intellectual ability will take place in person in our Tampa office. Testing measures can take 3-5 hours to complete and are typically done on the same day. However, if preferred, these sessions can be split. When necessary, standardized rating scales are provided to the parent, teacher, and, when applicable, the child, to assess various behaviors.

Psychoeducational evaluations include a comprehensive written report and a 45 minute feedback session with the parent or guardian to discuss results and recommendations. Guidance on navigating the special education process in the public school system can also be offered.

Gifted Evaluation

Assists in identifying gifted intellect through brief IQ testing, and provides guidance on how to best support your child.

Gifted evaluations take place in our Tampa office and last 1-3 hours. Often times, the entire time block is not needed, but is provided so that the child does not feel rushed.

Results are discussed following the evaluation and a written report is provided within 2 weeks of testing.

Both the screening and the evaluation begin with an in-depth intake interview to discuss concerns along with background and developmental history. This is a 60 minute session and can be held in person in our Tampa office, or via video call.

Both the screening and the full evaluation also include standardized rating scales which measure the degree of behaviors in various settings.

Additionally, the full evaluation includes individual standardized testing of intellectual abilities along with evaluation of ASD behaviors utilizing a standardized measure.

ASD evaluations include a comprehensive written report and a 45 minute feedback session with the parent or guardian to discuss results and recommendations. Guidance on navigating the special education process in the public school system can also be offered.

Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)

IEEs are independent evaluations conducted by a psychologist outside of the school district. These are requested when a parent disagrees with the findings at the area school. IEEs require approval, but are paid for by the school district.
