COUNSELING
Individual Therapy
In-Person and Virtual Options
An initial intake session is required for all new therapy clients. This session consists of an in-depth interview to discuss background, concerns, and what the parent (and child) hope to gain through therapy. Standardized rating scales are also used as a baseline measure. The intake is 60 minutes long.
Therapy sessions are available either in person or virtually. Therapy practice is largely based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), but draws on other modalities as needed, to best address the child’s presenting concerns and desired focus. Social skills training and training in executive functioning skills are also available. Each session is 45-50 minutes long.
Parent Coaching
Help with tantrums and parenting of small children
Parent coaching sessions offer assistance with common behavior issues with children ages 2-6. Coaching provides parents with skills to increase frequency of the child’s ability to follow directions, decrease frequency and intensity of tantrums and help with emotional regulation. Sessions are available as either a single session or as a group of sessions. An intake session is required prior to beginning with parent coaching.
